FLAG is committed to giving our community the opportunity to grow and continue to play baseball even after the “regular season” has ended. Listed below you will find information around THREE different ways your player can participate.
FLAG FALCONS: We are forming teams NOW for the 2015 season. Falcons is a chance to play outside of our area and compete against different competition. It is geared for the player that loves baseball and wants another outlet. These teams will play against other local teams and compete in tournaments both locally and within the Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo area. Each team will determine its own individual schedule AND because of its connection with FLAG will not interfere with our regular and post season schedule. This is a major point to consider if you are looking for another outlet for your player. We are trying to grow a stronger baseball program in the West County and Falcons is one way that we can help to make that happen. We are looking to form teams from 2015 baseball age 8u-12u.
FALL BALL: Last year we joined with Harborcreek to play Fall Ball. It was a great time! It is very casual but allows the player to stay involved with baseball and it is a good time to keep growing skills. I do not have the formal schedule yet, but it will take place on Saturday late afternoons. There is only 1 game per week and a very light practice schedule. The season will run approx end of August until possibly the first weekend in October. 6 weeks/games is the goal. Teams will consist of anyone who played MINORS OR MAJORS THIS PAST SEASON. Last year teams were a blend of ages and it worked out great. Again, a fun time that keeps the boys on the diamond!
WINTER WORKOUTS: Last year we presented the chance to work out over the winter months. We rented space indoors at Family First on Sunday evenings to get together. We are looking into offering this again but need to gauge an interest level. Workouts would take place on Sunday evenings and run for 90 minutes. The focus is skill building/fundamentals. They would run for three months from January-March. This was a great time to simply stay in baseball shape while other activities and sports are happening (and still be able to participate in those activities).
If you would like anymore information or have questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly. I NEED TO HEAR ON THE FALCONS AND FALL BALL ASAP so we can be prepared moving forward.
